The America's Finest City Half Marathon and 5K is held annually in San Diego, CA during mid-August. Recent events have drawn over 10,000 participants, and raised several million dollars for charity. Take in the majestic view of both San Diego Bay and the Pacific Ocean while walking or running the half marathon for a great cause!
The half-marathon course begins on the Point Loma Peninsula near the Cabrillo National Monument at an elevation of about 300 ft (91 m) above sea-level. From there runners head north and gradually descend toward San Diego Bay. They then follow North Harbor Drive east and level out befor looping around Harbor Island. The course passes the Star of India museum ship and San Diego Broadway, then heading north along Sixth ave. and Laurle Street toward downtown San Diego. The finish line is located at the Pan American Plaza in Balboa Park.
